Some lullabies are about falling asleep. This one is about something just as important at bedtime: feeling close to someone you love.
In Two Capybaras Under the Stars, two capybaras snuggle together in a cosy woven nest on a hillside at night. One wears a little blue nightcap, the other a crown of flowers, and they hug quietly while fairy lights glow behind them. Above, a crescent moon hangs in a sky full of stars and constellations, and autumn leaves and ferns frame the scene. Nothing much happens, and that's deliberate: it's three and a half minutes of warmth and calm.

A song about togetherness
Bedtime can be the moment small children most want to feel safe and close. A gentle song about two friends sharing a cuddle gives you an easy way to talk about that: who do they like to snuggle up with? Who makes them feel safe when it's dark?
It also works nicely as a goodnight song for siblings, grandparents or a favourite teddy. Two capybaras, two people (or one person and one very important bear), one quiet moment.
Bedtime ideas
- Cuddle while you watch. Copy the capybaras: a hug for the length of the song.
- Spot the details together. The nightcap, the flower crown, the lantern, the moon. Point them out in a whisper.
- Name one person you love. When the song finishes, take turns saying one person who makes you feel cosy.
- Then lights out. Turn the screen off and finish with your own goodnight words.
A little activity for tomorrow
Draw two animal friends sharing a cuddle, under your own starry sky. Will they wear nightcaps or flower crowns? Add a moon, some stars and a string of lights, and give them names.
