Privacy Notice
How Sparkle Tree Studio collects, uses and protects personal data.
Last updated: 6 October 2026
We collect very little. There are no accounts, no adverts and no advertising tracking. Google Analytics runs only if you click Accept on the cookie banner. Designs made in the Creation Kit stay on your own device.
Who we are
Sparkle Tree Studio is operated by Daedalus Design, the data controller for the personal data described in this notice.
- Sparkle Tree Studio enquiries: sparkletreestudios@gmail.com
- Data protection enquiries: privacy@daedalusdesign.co.uk
- Postal address: 1 Galltfaenan Cottages, Trefnant, Denbigh, LL16 5AG
What we collect, and why
| Source | What | Why | Lawful basis |
|---|---|---|---|
| Emails you send us | Your email address, your name if you give it, and whatever you write. | To reply and keep a record of what was agreed. | Legitimate interests — responding to people who contact us. |
| Google Analytics (only if you accept) | Pages viewed, approximate location (country/region), device and browser type, and how you arrived, linked to a random identifier in a cookie. | To count visits and see which pages are useful, so we can improve the site. | Consent, given on the cookie banner and withdrawable at any time from our Cookie Policy. |
| Server logs | IP address, timestamp, page requested, browser user-agent. | To keep the site running, diagnose faults and detect abuse. | Legitimate interests — operating a secure service. |
The Creation Kit works entirely in your browser. The stickers, backdrops and words you add, and the files you download, are not sent to us. Printed orders are not available yet; before they open we will update this notice to explain how orders, payment and delivery details are handled.
The site has no sign-up form and no newsletter.
How long we keep it
- Emails and correspondence: up to 24 months from our last exchange, then deleted.
- Google Analytics data: no longer than 14 months, then deleted by Google.
- Server logs: a short rolling window, typically no more than 30 days.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal data and we do not share it for anyone else’s marketing. We use a small number of suppliers who process data on our behalf under contract:
- Our hosting provider, to run the servers this site sits on.
- Google, for email to sparkletreestudios@gmail.com (Gmail) and, only if you accept, Google Analytics. Advertising features in Google Analytics are switched off.
Some pages link to YouTube, Amazon and Sparkle Tree Press. Once you follow a link, that site’s own privacy policy applies.
We may disclose information where the law requires it, or to establish or defend legal claims.
Where your data is held
Our servers are located in the United Kingdom and the European Economic Area. Google may process data in the United States; for that, and for any other supplier outside the UK, we rely on the UK Government’s adequacy regulations (including the UK–US data bridge) or on International Data Transfer Agreements.
Children
Children can use the Creation Kit, read our stories and watch our songs without giving us any personal details: there are no accounts and nothing asks a child for a name or email address. Analytics stays off unless a grown-up accepts the cookie banner, and a grown-up check comes before anything that leads to an order. We follow the principles of the ICO’s Age Appropriate Design Code. If you believe a child has sent us personal data, email privacy@daedalusdesign.co.uk and we will delete it.
Your rights
Under the UK GDPR you have the right to:
- ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you;
- have inaccurate data corrected;
- ask us to delete data, where we have no continuing reason to keep it;
- object to processing carried out on the basis of legitimate interests;
- ask us to restrict processing while a dispute is resolved;
- receive data you gave us in a portable format;
- withdraw consent at any time, where consent is the basis we rely on.
Email privacy@daedalusdesign.co.uk to exercise any of these. We will respond within one month. There is no charge unless a request is manifestly unfounded or excessive.
Complaints
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, please tell us first so we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk, by post to Wycliffe House, Water Lane, Wilmslow, Cheshire SK9 5AF, or by phone on 0303 123 1113.
Changes
If we change how we handle personal data we will update this page and change the date at the top. Material changes will be flagged on the site.
