Our sleepy capybara has had a long day and is finally tucked up in bed. If your little one is too, this is the song for the last few minutes before sleep.
In Sleep Tight, Sleepy Capybara, the capybara snuggles down in a wooden bed carved with stars, wearing a striped nightcap and hugging a smiling crescent-moon pillow under a patchwork quilt. A little lamp glows beside the bed, a cat is curled up asleep on the shelf, and through the round window the moon shines over the dark pine trees. The music is soft and slow, made for winding down rather than waking up.

Why a bedroom scene works at bedtime
Young children often like seeing their own routine reflected back at them: a bed, a blanket, a lamp, a favourite cuddly thing to hold. When the capybara is tucked in and sleepy, it's a gentle hint that it's time to do the same. Many families find a short, predictable song helps mark the moment between "getting ready" and "going to sleep".
Bedtime ideas
- Get tucked in first. Pyjamas on, teeth brushed, under the covers, then press play.
- Find your own moon pillow. Let your child choose one soft toy to hug, just like the capybara does.
- Look for the sleeping cat. It's a lovely quiet "spot it" game for sleepy eyes.
- Say goodnight to the capybara when the song ends, then turn the screen off for the night.
A little activity for tomorrow
Design a dream bed for a capybara. What pattern is the quilt? What's carved on the headboard? What can you see out of the window? Colour it in with crayons or paints, and don't forget the nightcap.
