It's time to say goodnight to the forest. In our new bedtime song, a cosy little bear gets ready for bed, and invites your little one to do the same.
Time for Bed, Sleepy Bear follows a gentle bedtime routine: yawning, getting tucked in and closing eyes under a blanket of stars. The bear's bedroom is tucked inside a hollow tree, with a patchwork quilt, a red striped nightcap, a lamp glowing from a honey jar, an owl on the shelf and slippers waiting by the bed. Through the round window, the moon rises over the forest.

A song that follows a routine
Routines help little ones know what's coming next, and bedtime is no different. Because this song walks through the steps of getting ready for sleep, it can become part of your own routine: when the bear yawns, your child yawns; when the bear is tucked in, so are they.
Bedtime ideas
- Copy the bear. Do each step together: a big yawn, a snuggle under the covers, eyes closed.
- Talk about your own routine. What does your child do before bed? Bath, teeth, story, cuddle? Say the steps in order.
- Spot the honey-jar lamp and the owl in a quiet voice.
- Finish with lights out. When the bear's eyes close, it's time for the screen to go off too.
A little activity for tomorrow
Make a picture bedtime chart: draw the steps of your child's own bedtime routine in order, from bath to sleep, and add a sleepy bear in the last box. Stick it by the bed and tick the steps off each night.
